Question 1

How do I get started as a first-time user?

Accepted Answer

Click the Interactive Tour button on the homepage! We've prepared 30 guided steps covering everything from creating trips, tracking expenses, managing flights to sharing features. It takes just 30 seconds to master TripBoard!

Question 2

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Accepted Answer

Free covers the core experience with limits (1 trip, 5 checklist categories, 10 memos, LINE Flex share cards with 24-hour links). Pro unlocks unlimited trips, 7-day share links, PDF/Excel export, rate locking, and encrypted backup.

Question 3

How much does Pro cost?

Accepted Answer

Pro is a one-time purchase of USD $69 — pay once, own it forever. No subscription, no renewal.

Question 4

If I switch devices or browsers, will my activation code still work?

Accepted Answer

Of course! To protect your account security, one activation code can only be used on one device at a time. If you switch to a new phone, simply unbind (clear) the old device's activation code in Settings to enter the new one and sync all trip data.

Question 5

Is my data safe?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! All data is stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB). Nothing uploads to any server. After loading once, you have full access offline. Pro adds encrypted backup for extra protection.

Question 6

How do I unbind my device?

Accepted Answer

If you need to switch devices, visit the Unbind page (/unbind) and enter your activation code. The system uses rate limiting (24-hour cooldown + 10 unbind maximum) to prevent abuse.

Question 7

How do I backup my data?

Accepted Answer

Go to Settings → Data Management → Export Backup. All users can export a ZIP backup. Pro users can enable AES-256 Encrypted Backup for extra security. Remember to save your backup password safely!

Question 8

Can I import a shared trip?

Accepted Answer

Yes! When someone shares a trip with you, you'll see an Import to My Trips button on the share page. Click it to add the trip to your local storage.

Question 9

I lost my activation code. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

Your activation code is automatically sent to your payment email after purchase. Please check your inbox (including spam). If you still can't find it, go to Settings → Feedback to contact support.

Question 10

Can I get a refund after purchase?

Accepted Answer

All payments are processed through Lemon Squeezy. If you need a refund, please contact Lemon Squeezy support directly through the link in your purchase receipt email. We recommend trying the Free Version (1 trip limit) before upgrading to Pro.

Question 11

What's your refund policy?

Accepted Answer

Refund requests should be submitted to Lemon Squeezy (our payment processor). You can find the support link in your purchase receipt email. Please note that activation codes are digital products, so refund approval depends on Lemon Squeezy's policy.

Question 12

Which currencies are supported?

Accepted Answer

TripBoard supports JPY, KRW, USD, EUR, THB, TWD, GBP, AUD, CAD, SGD, HKD, MYR, VND, PHP and more! Perfect for trips to Japan, Korea, Europe, Southeast Asia, and beyond. Exchange rates update automatically.

Question 13

Does it work offline?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Open TripBoard at least once with internet so the app can load and cache. After that, it works offline: your data is stored locally, so you can plan on the plane, track expenses in remote areas, and access everything anytime. Add to home screen for the best experience.

Question 14

What is Split Bill? How does it work?

Accepted Answer

Split Bill is a free, fully-open feature that helps you track shared expenses during group trips. You can add travel members, record who paid for what, and TripBoard will automatically calculate who owes whom — including the minimal-transfer settlement suggestion. Everything is free; only the Excel split-bill sheet export requires Pro.

Question 15

Can I use Split Bill in the Free plan?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Split Bill is completely free — unlimited members, and the minimal-transfer settlement calculation is included at no cost. Only the Excel split-bill sheet export requires Pro.

Question 16

How many photos can I upload per spot?

Accepted Answer

You can upload 1-5 photos per spot or memo. Photos are compressed and stored locally in your device (IndexedDB). This feature is available in both Free and Pro plans.
